Colonial Stadium is one of the world's newest state of the art sporting arenas, featuring a retractable roof, excellent line of site spectator viewing and of course, comprehensive building management systems. This project presented a number of unique challenges for which Clevertronics was able to develop robust and cost-effective solutions.
Colonial Stadium is a large site which encompasses five main switchboards and 400 distribution boards. The complete system is operated from a facilities management room and controls 2188 addressable exit and emergency luminaires installed over 350 switchboards. It uses 20 three phase injectors and 37 single phase injectors located at strategic switchboards around the stadium.
There are many advantages of the Clevertronics Monitoring System on a massive project such as this. The fact that there is no data cable connection required between luminaires removes the potential for countless commonly experienced problems during construction. But just as important, although sometimes forgotten, are the advantages to the maintenance crew over the life of the site.
Clevertronics Powerline luminaires are installed the same way as 'normal' emergency units. There are no special data cable connections, no critical order sequence and no long lost data cable runs to search for. To replace, repair, add or subtract these fittings is a snap. Additionally, the ability to perform discharge tests in software allocated test groups provides for easily programmed maintenance runs and simplified component ordering.
